When you use Peereply, we collect the information you provide directly:

Account information: email address and password (hashed, never stored in plaintext).
Uploaded files: manuscripts and reviewer comments you upload for processing.
Usage data: session metadata, credit transactions, and feature usage for service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Data

To process your manuscripts and generate AI-assisted responses.
To search academic databases (PubMed, CrossRef) for relevant citations.
To maintain your account and credit balance.
To improve the quality of our AI drafting service.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or uploaded manuscripts with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. AI Processing

Your manuscript text and reviewer comments are sent to Google Gemini API for response drafting. This data is processed according to Google's API data usage policies. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Data Storage & Retention

Your uploaded files and generated responses are stored securely on our servers.
You may delete your sessions and associated data at any time from your dashboard.
Account deletion removes all associated data permanently.

5. Payments

All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial information. Please refer to Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy for payment data handling.

6. Cookies

We use a minimal authentication token stored in your browser's local storage. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at support@peereply.com to exercise these rights.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.
