By accessing or using Peereply ("the Service"), operated by Peereply ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Peereply is an AI-powered tool that assists researchers in drafting point-by-point responses to peer review comments on academic manuscripts. The Service provides AI-generated draft responses, citation suggestions, and document export functionality.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
One person or entity may not maintain more than one account.

4. Credits and Payments

New accounts receive 10 free credits to trial the Service.
Additional credits can be purchased through our payment provider.
Credits expire 3 months (90 days) after the date of purchase or grant.
Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service without written permission.
Use automated scripts to access the Service beyond normal API usage.
Submit fabricated data or use the Service to produce fraudulent academic content.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all manuscripts, review comments, and other content you upload.
We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models.
We process your content solely to provide the Service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload content you submit.

7. AI-Generated Content

All AI-generated responses are drafts intended for your review and editing.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all output before use.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content.
Citation suggestions should be independently verified before inclusion in your work.

8. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PEEREPLY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Academic Integrity

Peereply is a drafting assistant, not a ghostwriter. You are expected to review, edit, and take full responsibility for all responses submitted to journals or reviewers. Use of AI tools should comply with the policies of your institution and target journal.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@peereply.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
